Waste & Recycling Centers


Five staffed Waste and Recycling Centers are available for all Orange County residents to dispose of household garbage, bulky items such as upholstered furniture, and a full range of recyclable materials.

  • No business waste. Residential waste only.
  • Loads are limited to one pick-up truck, or volume equivalent, per day or weekend period.
  • Loads must be secure upon entering the centers.
  • Mattresses and box springs are accepted at the Eubanks Road and Walnut Grove Church Road Waste and Recycling Centers only. Limit 4 per person, per day or weekend period.  Only mattresses received at the Orange County landfill will be recycled.

Yard Waste & Salvage Sheds

All centers except for Bradshaw Quarry Road accept yard waste and have Salvage Sheds where residents can leave and/or take reusable items in good condition. No clothing, carpet, construction material, yard sale remnants, broken furniture or trash items should be left in the Salvage Sheds.

Eubanks Rd. and Walnut Grove Church Rd. Waste and Recycling Centers

have additional services not available at the other three centers:

  • Mattresses and box springs limit four pieces per person per day or weekend period. Residents bringing mattresses to the Eubanks Road Waste and Recycling Center while the Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility is open will be directed to that facility.
  • Food waste drop-off for all food and food related paper to be composted.
  • Plastic bag and film recycling
  • Used clothing, textiles and shoes
  • Used cooking oil collection
  • Household Hazardous Waste Collections

Acceptable Materials

Single Stream Recycling
Bottles, cans, jugs, jars and paper.

Large Rigid Plastics
Non-bottle rigid plastics #2, #4, and #5 in purple dumpsters.
Eubanks Road and Walnut Grove Church Road Centers can accept over-sized rigid plastics such as plastic playground slides, kiddie pools, or large plastic drums. Rigid plastics must fit inside the container;cut down to size if necessary.
No plastic bottles (recycle with Single Stream Recycling).
No #1, #6, #7 plastics.

No metal. No plastic bags or other non-rigid plastics.

Used Motor Oil and Oil Filters
Kerosene, diesel fuel, gear oil, Coleman fuel and transmission fluid can also be recycled with motor oil. Bring in separate containers.
No Gasoline, brake fluid, solvents, mixed gas, or paint. Bring these items to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection.

Automotive and Boat Batteries

Household Batteries

Data carrying electronics such as computers and peripherals, televisions, phones, CD and DVD players, radio and stereo receivers, fax machines and VCRs. We also accept household appliances that have a cord, battery operated toys (batteries removed) and electronic media such as DVDs, CDs and their plastic jewel cases.

Limit 5 computers or televisions per person per day or weekend period.
No shrink wrap or items containing tape such as video or cassette tapes.

No large stereo speakers.
Scrap Metal and Large Appliances
Limit 2 per day
Limit 5 passenger vehicle tires per month
Yard Waste and Clean Wood
Loose or in paper yard waste bags available at most home improvement stores.
No plastic or paper grocery bags.
