Other resources may be used in addition to filling out a lost or found report with Animal Services. These include:
- Check out these tips for finding lost cats.
- Nextdoor*, Facebook*, and Instagram* are great online tools for reaching out to your community about lost and found pets. There are other, regional Facebook pages dedicated to lost/found pets such as Orange County NC Lost & Found Pets*, Lost and Found Pets of NC*, Lost & Found Pets of The Triangle, NC* and Lost & Found Dogs, NC.*
- The more places you list a pet, the better your chances of success! Check out other popular lost/found websites such as Finding Rover* and PawBoost*
- Make flyers with your pet's photo and distribute them in your community. Post them in your neighborhood and hand them out to nearby establishments.
- You may also view all shelter animals (this link takes you to listings for all of our shelter animals - including those those who have known owners, those in our medical foster program, and those available for adoption).
- If you have not already done so, head back to our Lost & Found page to follow the prompts and fill out an official report.
Additional paid services for finding lost pets may be available within the triangle and NC. If you are interested in learning about those options, please call our office at 919-942-7387.
