Asset Management Services (AMS) is responsible for the development, operations, maintenance and optimization of Orange County facilities and vehicles. AMS is made up of three main divisions and one program:
- Custodial Services
- Facility Maintenance
- Fleet Maintenance
- Sustainability Program
Manage & Support Capital Projects
Manage and support capital projects as identified in the Capital Investment Plan (CIP), including departmental support and guidance for Solid Waste, Planning, and Orange County SportsPlex capital projects.
Acquire & Manage Real Estate
Acquire and manage real estate, including leases, as may be needed for County operations; and coordinate space allocations for County departments.
Provide Preventative, Corrective & Restorative Maintenance Services to County Owned Facilities
Provide preventative, corrective and restorative maintenance services to County owned facilities in areas including, but not limited to:
- Air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC)
Routine Cleaning & Scheduled Floor Care
Routine cleaning and scheduled floor care of County and Court system occupied buildings*: 24 buildings comprising 299,074 cleanable square feet. (*excludes: SportsPlex, Sheriff's Office facilities, Solid Waste facilities, and facilities of the Department of Social Services.)
Maintain the County's Fleet
Maintain the County's fleet of over 300 vehicles, which includes:
- Emergency response vehicles
They also maintain more than 100 pieces of equipment such as:
- 14 emergency generators serving County facilities
- Animal cages
- Vehicle mounted chair lifts
Manage Utility Services
Manage utility services (electricity, natural gas, water, fuel oil, propane) and motor vehicle fueling systems for County facilities and vehicles.
Manage & Promote Conservation and Sustainability Practices
Manage and promote conservation and sustainability practices in County operations, promoting management practices designed to reduce inefficiencies and overall energy use by County departments.
