Hurricane Irene Preparation Resources
The following resources and links have been provided by differing organizations to help people prepare for any possible damage or difficulties due to Hurrican Irene.
General Resources
- The Emergency Programs Division of the Department of Agriculture is working to help counties prepare and respond on behalf of pets before and after Hurricane Irene hits
- A comprehensive NC list of Emergency Management Offices so that citizens can call to inquire about whether a co-located shelter (for both people and pets) is available in each County.
- General Emergency preparedness for pets is available from the American Humane Association.
Horse & Livestock Resources
- Horse boarding will be available for horses at the Senator Bob Martin Eastern Agriculture Center in Williamston and at the Hunt Horse Complex in Raleigh.
- NC Horse Directory, maintained by the Department of Agriculture, allows a search of all emergency boarding facilities available.
- NC Goat and Sheep Directory, maintained by the Department of Agriculture, allows a search of all emergency boarding facilities available.
