Outside Agency Funding

 

2014-15 Outside Agency Funding Process 

Each year, Orange County Government, the Town of Carrboro and the Town of Chapel Hill invite program funding requests, from non-profit providers (outside agencies) that support the delivery of vital community services.

Notice to 2014-15 Orange County Applicants:

On May 16, 2014, Orange County will publish the FY 2014-15 County Manager’s Recommended Budget online at www.orangecountync.gov/hottopic.asp, which will include outside agency funding recommendations. Please note that the Orange County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will make all final decisions and adopt the Approved County Budget, in late June.

Budget Public Hearings

Please review this notice for details about the budget public hearing dates, times and locations.  At budget public hearings, members of the public, including outside agency staff, clients, supporters, etc., may speak about your budget request, for a maximum of three minutes.  Each individual who would like to speak must sign-in before the meeting begins; the sign-in sheet order determines speaker order.

Work Sessions

The BOCC will tentatively discuss the budget at three work sessions:

  • Thursday, June 5 (Southern Human Services Center, Chapel Hill)
  • Tuesday, June 10 (Link Government Services Center, Hillsborough)
  • Thursday, June 12 (Southern Human Services Center, Chapel Hill)

All Budget Work Sessions will begin at 7:00pm; the public can attend work sessions, but may not speak unless called upon. Dates and times are subject to change; changes are announced via the Sunshine Listserv, which can be joined at http://www.co.orange.nc.us/email/subscribeform.asp?Sunshine=true.  FY 2014-15 budget adoption is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, at Southern Human Services Center. Outside Agency applicants will receive decision notifications, shortly after adoption.

 

2013-14 Orange County Funding Awards & Reports

The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved Orange County's FY 2013-14 Operating Budget, on June 18. The BOCC appropriated $1,069,100 for 41 agencies, an increase of $30,400 above the FY 2013-14 appropriation.  This included funding for seven new agencies, which totaled $26,500. An agency must report on its performance each quarter (January 15, April 15, July 8), prior to allocation disbursement. Form instructions and submission details can be found in the July 2013 Memo.
