Regional Dissolution
The Hyconeechee Regional Library will dissolve on July 1, 2012. For the library patrons of Caswell, Person and Orange County, what does this mean for you?
Online Catalog
Will I still see the books and materials at other county libraries when I view the online Catalog?
Beginning June 1, 2012, a patron will only be able to view items at their county library. Links to other county library systems will be available from your local county library website.
Borrowing items
Can we still borrow books from all three counties?
Yes, however, beginning June 1, 2012, you will have to actually visit the other county to borrow in person. Patrons will be issued a library card free of charge from the other libraries.
Can we still request items from another county library and have them delivered to our library?
Yes, however, these requests will be handled as ILL (Interlibrary Loans) and may have fees associated with this type of transaction. Please check with your local library for details.
Returning Materials
Can we still return borrowed books to all three county libraries?
Beginning July 1st, 2012, we respectfully request that all items checked out are returned to the library of ownership. Any items returned to another county may accrue fines and fees until it is physically received by the county of ownership.
