The Egg Drop Challenge

Think you can build a vehicle that will protect a raw egg from breaking when dropped onto a parking lot?  Let’s find out!Egg Drop Challenge

Get the Details

There are some limitations on what you can use to build your egg's armored vehicle - print out the complete rules for contest details.   Egg Drop Rules

Building Your Vehicle

The idea of the Egg Drop is to take your time this summer and build your vehicle at home, where you can run some tests before bringing it to the library for the big drop.  There will be an Egg Drop supply table near the Teen Room (2nd floor) at the Main Library - feel free to grab any supplies you'd like to take home and use for your project.

The Big Drop

We will be putting our egg vehicles to the test on Saturday, July 19th. We'll meet in the Main Library's meeting room at 3pm to register and put a pre-pasteurized egg into your project, and then head to the parking deck, where the big drop will take place!
