Orange County Public Library Volunteer Program

Penny - Technical Services Volunteer

Orange County Public Library believes that volunteers are essential to the continued success of the public library system. Volunteers make a difference by sharing their skills and experiences to the benefit of library staff and customers. Additionally, they provide an educational and cultural link to the community, and are ambassadors for the library, helping to create public awareness regarding the programs and services that the library provides. Volunteers also serve as a source of public opinion regarding desired improvements in services, materials, and needed programming.

Getting Started

Individuals who are interested in volunteering with the library will be asked to complete an application and interview process that will help match the individual’s interests to the jobs that are available. Volunteers will work with their staff coordinators to finalize their schedule, and will receive training and supervision in the specific tasks to which they are assigned.
