Orange County government does not provide utility services for water, electricity, garbage collection, telephone, natural gas, Internet or cable TV. Use the links below to contact the appropriate provider for your need and geographic area.
Water and Sewer

- Chapel Hill & Carrboro - Orange Water and Sewer Authority at (919) 968-4421 or their web site.
- Efland - Orange-Alamanac Water System for water at (919) 563-6212 and sewer service at Efland Sewer System, (919) 245-2303 or 2313.
- Mebane - Graham-Mebane Water System for water at (910) 578-3264 and City of Mebane for sewer at (919) 563-5901.
- Well and Septic permits are issued by Orange County's Health Department
Electricity
- Incorporated areas - are served by Duke Power. See their web site for additional contact information.
- Unincorporated area - Served by Piedmont Electric Membership Corp. at (919) 732-2123 (Hillsborough Office)
Garbage Collection
Municipal garbage collection is provided by each municipality.
Roadside litter problems can be reported to the North Carolina Department of Transportation
