Solid Waste Advisory Board
The Orange County Solid Waste Advisory Board (SWAB) is an eight-member body that provides advice to the Board of Orange County Commissioners on solid waste matters in our county. The SWAB consists of two representatives from each of the four local governments in Orange County selected by that government, plus a liaison from the Board of Orange County Commissioners and one from UNC Chapel Hill.
The SWAB meets monthly, typically on the second Monday of the month from 7pm to 9pm at the Orange County Solid Waste Management Administration Building, 1207 Eubanks Rd. in Chapel Hill.

There was a special meeting of the Solid Waste Advisory Board on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. The purpose of the meeting was to receive and discuss a draft waste hauling and disposal cost analysis from the four local governments in Orange County to a proposed transfer station location on West Hwy. 54 in Orange County and the existing City of Durham Transfer Station and two existing private transfer stations in RTP.
