Orange County Solid Waste Convenience Centers

Locations of Solid Waste Convenience Centers are lettered in Blue on MAP:
A. *  Eubanks Road: One mile west of Hwy.86, Chapel Hill
B. * Ferguson Road: At the intersection of Old Greensboro Road, Chapel Hill
C.   Bradshaw Quarry Road: At the intersection of Oak Grove Church Road, Efland
D.* High Rock Road: ¼ mile west of Mill Creek Road, Efland
E. *  Walnut Grove Church Road: at intersection of Hwy.86 North, Hillsborough

Effective February 1, 2010 Bradshaw Quarry Center hours are:

OPEN Tuesday 7:00a.m.-6:00 p.m.

OPEN Saturday 7:00a.m.-5:00 p.m.
CLOSED Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday


Hours for ALL other four centers are:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, 7am-6pm
Saturday, 7am-5pm
Closed Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays

*These centers accept yard waste and have Salvage Sheds. Reusable items in good condition can be taken to the Salvage Sheds. Do NOT bring clothing, carpet, construction material, yard sale remnants, broken furniture or trash items to the Salvage Sheds.

These centers can take over-sized rigid plastics such as plastic playground slides, kiddie  pools, or large plastic drums.

Solid Waste Convenience Centers accept household trash and bulky items.
No business waste.
Loads are limited to one pick-up truck per day or weekend period.
Mattresses and box springs wil no longer be accepted as of July 27, 2009.
Landfill permits will no longer be issued as of July 27, 2009.

Used Motor Oil & Oil Filters oil, oil filterKerosene, diesel fuel, gear oil, Coleman fuel and transmission fluid can also be recycled with motor oil. Bring in separate containers. Gasoline, brake fluid, solvents, mixed gas, or paint. Bring these items to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection.
