The Orange Soil and Water Conservation District Board regular meeting is the

Second Wednesday of each month at the Environment and Agricultural Building (EA) located at 306 Revere Rd. in Hillsborough. 

Please Note:  Occasionally, meeting dates and times do change, but are posted in advance on the Orange County - All County meeting calendar.

Annual Tree Sales

The District is currently taking orders for wind breaks, erosion control, wildlife plantings, stream buffers, or road/visual buffers.  These are small, bare-root trees, specific for conservation needs. Orders are taken on a "first come, first serve basis." Trees are usually delivered in mid-Feb.

Order forms are available in the office for citizens to order large quantities directly from the NC Forest Service. 

Agriculture Assistance Program:

Helps eligible applicants with technical and financial cost share assistance on agricultural lands with best management practices such as grassed waterways, pasture renovations, well construction and watering tanks. Call (919) 245-2750 to find out which programs you may qualify for today. 

Community Conservation Assistance Program: 

Helps eligible applicants with technical and financial cost share funding to install non-agricultural best management practices such as cisterns, rain gardens, backyard wetlands, critical area seeding, abandoned well closures, and riprian buffer planting on private and public properties.  Call (919) 245-2750 to find out which programs you may qualify for today.
