About the HRC
The Orange County Human Relations Commission (HRC) is an Advisory Commission to the Orange County Board of County Commissioners. The HRC The work of the HRC works to ensure the following policies of the BOCC are met: to promote the equal treatment of all individuals; to protect residents’ lawful interests and their personal dignity; and to prevent public and domestic strife, crime, and unrest within Orange County.

The Pauli Murray Award
The Pauli Murray Award is presented annually by the Orange County Human Relations Commission to an Orange County youth, an Orange County adult, and an Orange County business that have served the community with distinction in the pursuit of equality, justice, and human rights for all residents.
