FEMA opens applications for funeral reimbursements
The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 included funds for the Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA] to provide financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. FEMA began accepting applications on Monday, April 12.
To apply, call the hotline at 844-684-633 (TTY 800-462-7585). Due to heavy call volume, please be patient. The hotline is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time.
A FEMA representative will help you complete a COVID-19 Funeral Assistance application. Multilingual services will be available.
