Outside Agencies

Orange County is currently accepting applications for Human Services/Outside Agencies' Funding. Please click on the Funding Process Tab on the left for more detailed information.

Each year, Orange County Government, the Town of Carrboro and the Town of Chapel Hill invite program funding requests from non-profit providers (outside agencies) that support the delivery of vital community services. The three jurisdictions administer a common application with separate evaluation processes.

For Fiscal Year 2020 to 2021 (July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021), the Orange County Board of County Commissioners awarded funding to 50 agencies totaling $1,561,974, an increase of $71,793 from the prior year.  This includes funding for one (1) new or previously unfunded agencies, which totals $20,000.

Each quarter, agencies must report on their performance objectives and provide financial receipts, as outlined in their application and Scope of Services Performance Agreement, in order to receive their funding disbursements.
